Sculpture students made clay slabs and practiced creating facial features to prepare for our bust unit. We reviewed making clay slabs, additive and subtractive techniques and practiced with a facial feature of their choice (mostly eyes).
We’ve been blending with colored pencils and talking about color temperature this week. The Prismacolor upgrade was 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Art II students (a mix of 10-12th graders) have been exploring Surrealism by creating dreamscape collages focusing on depth in a landscape. We did this the old-fashioned way, with glossy magazines, and the results are unexpected, creative and hilarious.
We have been creating old school landscape collages exploring Surrealism.
I am so inspired by this collection of hand artworks. It always makes me proud when students persevere and push themselves out of their comfort zone. Their creative range impresses me too, since this was mostly a technical contour drawing exercise!
Starting our color theory practice on Monday with Art II!
