Donut Drawing!

https://youtu.be/rmKT2fD3wP8

Instagram

I am so inspired by this collection of hand artworks. It always makes me proud when students persevere and push themselves out of their comfort zone. Their creative range impresses me too, since this was mostly a technical contour drawing exercise!
Starting our color theory practice on Monday with Art II!
Our watercolor drip Zentangle sketchbook covers are finished and attached! Who knew the hardest part of this project would be lining up clear packing tape without bubbles?
I have been torturi- excuse me, teaching my Art II students (a mix of 10-12th graders) observational drawing using hands as our inspiration. After lots of guided contour drawing practice with a timer, students began creating compositions with their favorite gestures.
Final artworks are done! I love the mixed media approach and how diverse the different styles and subjects are. Observational drawing does not have to be boring, and I love hearing my students question where their images are coming from.
My AP art students have been focusing on observational drawing and questioning where their image sources come from.
