My Art II students, a mix of 10th-12th graders who allegedly had Art I, have been exploring charcoal the last few days.
India ink is such a great material for creating moody landscapes. Landscapes can be really overwhelming, so simplifying to grayscale can help
A Thanksgiving doodle 🍁🍂🥧 This is a really fun blending lesson for the crazy few days before a break, or for time at home that doesn’t include a screen. Detailed tutorial is linked in my bio.
India ink is so fun to work with, and very cost effective in a classroom with 35+ students. We have been practicing value and creating landscapes demonstrating atmospheric perspective. I love the little postcard size practice landscapes, they sometimes turn out better than the larger final pieces!
Art II students (a mix of 10-12th) just wrapped up their color theory unit. I am always in awe of how a group of students get the exact same directions and materials and end up with such varied results!
