The first round of clay busts have been finished and I love the variety and individual style of these pieces.
We are wrapping up our expressive clay portraits this week. Making acrylic clay look good on clay is quite a challenge. This is just a small sample of my Art II students work. They persevered, because the first coat never looks good! 💛
The first batch of mosaics were grouted today! The last class before spring break is the perfect time to teach something you haven’t taught in a decade, right? 👀
My Sculpture II students have been hard at work creating their found object mosaics. This lesson is great for personal expression and found objects elevate traditional mosaic techniques with sculptural story telling.
My Sculpture II students are bringing me so much joy as we wrap up our clay bust unit. I did not give them a theme or a prompt, just a few handfuls of clay and as much time as our public school schedule allowed.
Nothing is better than lifting the lid of a kiln after a successful bisque firing. 🔥🔥🔥
